tv tuner for windows media center?
March 30th, 2010 | by admin |when i first got my computer my live tv option for my windows media center worked without a problem. recently i had to rebuilt my computer wiping everything from the memory. now when i go into windows media center and try to set up my tv i get a message that says.."the tv signal cannot be configured because no tuner hardware was detected. please ensure your hardware is correctly installed. if you do not have tuner hardware, you may purchase a tuner online from windows marketplace"..i don’t have a usb tuner so i assume that the hardware was internal. does this mean that i lost my tuner hardware and can no longer get it back or is it somewhere hidden that needs to be installed and if so how would i find it? thanks for any help!
What it’s telling you is that it can’t find the hardware tuner, which means when you rebuilt your pc (i’m assuming format/reinstall of windows) the hardware drivers required for the tuner were not reinstalled (or at least not properly) in order for Media Center to see the tuner.
You should be able to download the driver from the manufacturer of the PC, or from the manufacturer of the tuner if it is an internal card and has identifying information physically printed on it.
