Can I listen to music I downloaded from the Zune Marketplace on iTunes?

May 1st, 2010 | by admin |

So I have Zune, but I am thinking about downloading iTunes so that I can listen to other people’s music library and so that other people can listen to mines (I’m in a college dorm). But if I download iTunes, can I still listen to all the music that I downloaded from the Zune Marketplace? I mean, it allows me to listen to music that I downloaded from the Zune Marketplace on Windows Media Player, so would it be different with iTunes?

Yes, any music you download from either Zune Marketplace and iTunes Store are cross-compatible (Movies aren’t). However you shouldn’t need iTunes, any music you get can play from either Windows Media Player of the Zune Software.

    YES.
Zune Marketplace bought music and video mostly are DRM-protected which can not play back on iTunes, even cant be synced to iTunes.

So you need a 3rd party converter to remove DRM protection first, and then convert them to iTunes compatible formats

What I picked for my iTunes is Aimersoft Media Converter, which performs all round as DRM remover and music & video converter, fast and very easy to handle.

If you want to know more about it, here is a tutorial to show you "How to Remove DRM from Zune Marketplace Protected music and then transfer to iTunes".
    Hope it helps.
