Preview by Microsoft – Windows Mobile 6.5 – Windows Phone 7
June 13th, 2010
Part 1 – Here is a great video from July 29, 2009, that IMHO demonstrates, highlights, and reveals aspects of the totally new and upcoming (Fall 2010?) Microsoft “Windows Phone 7″ operating system .
Also this discusses Windows Mobile 6.5 in its final form that will be released by MS on October 6, 2009.
He also talks about Windows Mobile Series 7 phones (superphones?) that will probably debut in late 2010.
And at 8:57 he says the OS will have full flash support.
Update: Here’s a link to MS October 6 announcement of 6.5 and other applications:

Watch the video and see that this will be an awesome OS. We who own devices that run WinMO 6.1 will be getting it for FREE.
Highlights I like include:
A browser that runs flash.
A Marketplace that functions similar to Android Market (goodbye to Handango and difficult to find apps).
Free access to an online service called “MyPhone” that allows you to upload on to the Internet your phone’s contacts, messages and any data you tell the phone to upload.
When you get a new phone or lose your old one you can download all your data to your new phone. This video says it will be 200 MB of space. That may change, but the concept is cool. This is similar to ASUS netbooks that give people free access to an online repository for data.
If you are running 6.1 on your phone, you can sign up and use the MyPhone service now:

There’s other cool stuff the WinPhone OS will come with, but listen to the video to see what.
The Windows Phone OS will be FREE to most users, near as I can tell. HTC, who makes my T-Mobile Touch Pro2 has announced it will be a free upgrade for us.
I suspect it will be free because why bother charging people when it’s free all over the Net, including on XDA. Also, to get MS back into the game they better get it into as many user hands as fast as possible.
Listen to the end of the video. I can’t hear exactly, but the MS rep mentions Microsoft’s plans to shift to dual mobile operating platforms in 2010. This means they will have the 6.5.x / 6.x.x line of phones and a separate multi-media powerhouse phones, where the OS will be Windows Phone 7 (I suspect that MS really wants to get away from calling any OS Windows Mobile so to emphasize that WinMo 7, or WP7 is totally different. Just my opinion.)
Anyone who has declared Microsoft a goner or dead in regards to the cell phone OS market, I think you are wrong. This video shows that Microsoft is determined to be a player and will be.
I downloaded and installed Windows Phone OS (excuse me, 6.5) from the below site. It’s fantastic. If you are inclined, give it a try. Why wait until October 6. LOL.

Many exciting things coming up. I like what I see.
=====================
The 6.5 operating systems (ROM) are available for free from developers on XDA.
See my other videos with demonstrations.
Go to www.thewingster.com for further info on ROMS and to download what you want.

The procedure to get a “cooked ROM” on to your Touch Pro2 is called “flashing.” While it is an easy process it can be scary your first time. Coming soon: my video on how to flash your T-Mobile Touch Pro2.
