Why are Americans willfully ignorant of how they became overly dependent on the marketplaces?

eating, drinking, traveling- fishing, picking, hunting- they are pretty important to be able to do, some redundant systems might be a good idea, -we put ALL OUR EGGS in the marketplace basket. No access to REAL food at all…
not all are trust me…
