INDIA: Why do Indian men like to grope women in crowded marketplaces? Isn’t that sexual harassment?

I went to India last month and while getting stuck in crowded market places, I got groped by Indian men. Not only that, but many Indian women complain of getting groped as well. Why does this keep on happening over there? I’m too scared of going back there again.

Good for you, dont go if you are scared…

I enjoy being groped, pricked,pinched and being commented at…It makes me feel secured about my attractiveness/sex-appeal….

I’m again goin back this September….

    Sorry to hear about that! It is not all, some perverts do such heinous act. It has been reported in crowded bus as well, they must definitely be mentally sick to do such things. If they think about their family members getting groped some where else, they won’t do it. Even if you file a police complaint nothing will be done or you have to go through lot of formality tortures/insult.

    I am really so sorry to hear that. The thing is that there are many perverts on the prowl as we have a 1.19 Billion population. And generally, as these kind of men are sexually starved due to the social conditions here, they usually resort to these ugly practices. I wouldn’t want to scare you but I should say more serious issues of sexual assaults are not uncommon too.

    But don’t worry, just be careful not to walk around alone especially in relatively remote places. Just don’t believe anyone like tourist guides completely. Always be a bit extra careful. If you go with reputed conducted tours and remain vigilant you have almost nothing to worry. Also make sure you dine out at good restaurants. If you are not used to the local food it would be best to make a slow transition as the kind of food is quite different here.

    Most Indian men in their early twenties are still virgins and so sexually starved. It starts again in older men around 45 and older who are bored of their wives. If you are white, you are considered "prime meat" in India.So you will be ogled at, even touched and jostled in crowded places. There is an increase in incidents concerning rape of white female tourists in India.

    It is absolutely sexual harrassment. The reason why they grope in crowded places is so that they could blend in the crowd if the victim makes a noise. It is people with repressed sexuality who indulge in such acts and with strong social mores against pre-marital relationships and poor sex ratio there are too many of such people. One way to deal with such people is to shout, beat or kick such people. Remember they are committing crime so they are anyway scared and any action from you will give wheels to their legs.
